Injured

Posted by Kate on Sunday, November 05, 2006

Yesterday Pat and I explored what will soon be our hometown. We drove all around and stopped in the downtown, got a coffee at the local coffee shop and wandered around. During this wandering I started feeling an aching pain in the arch of my right foot. We stopped into the local library and at that point I realized that the foot pain was getting worse.

Perhaps a six mile hike on pavement, out of the blue, had more of an effect on my body than I had imagined. I had planned on taking Pat to a trail that I discovered on my walk, but that was definitely canceled. Last night I sat around with my foot iced and elevated, but this morning it is still feeling bruised. No actual bruise...isn't that always the way? Bruises that I never feel show up all the time, but when I am actually in pain, no visible signs.

I am not sure why my arch hurts. Seems like if it was my sneakers' fault I would be feeling it in both feet. Strange and annoying, since there was all kinds of stuff I wanted to do this weekend and it all involved walking.
