Hello Again
Posted by Kate on Friday, October 27, 2006Sorry I didn't post all week. I think I may have been hiding from the internet. But I am back now. I guess I didn't really want to talk about the stuff going on. Some of it because it was so negative and some because I am full of hope and don't want to jinx it by talking about it.
The negative stuff. They didn't accept our withdrawal from buying that house. They had the same builder who built it wrong in the first place come in and fix some of the problems and shave down the door so it would close. The problem was not with the door. It was with the house sagging so much in three years that the door did not even come close to closing. Pat and I had no way of proving that the house was not structurally sound without putting more money into it. So we walked away and lost our earnest money. We were just at the point that there was nothing they could really do to make up for all the negativity we were feeling towards that house. And we didn't want our first home purchase to be like that.
And the hope stuff. We put another offer on a house. A bigger more expensive house with a garage. This house was built in 2004 by Anderson Homes. They are still building in the area and this house is directly across from the model house. You better believe I walked through this house making sure all the doors open and shut easily. And Anderson has a warrranty on the structure of the house for the life of the house. We are waiting to hear if they accept our offer. If they do, maybe I will post some photos.
