Missing the Ocean State
Posted by Kate on Friday, October 13, 2006Things aren't going smoothly in homebuying land. There have been some snags along the whole inspection route. Very frustrating. So there is some more waiting and probably some more house hunting.
I like our inspector. He was very thorough and funny. He kept teasing me, which wasn't very fair because I don't know anything about homeownership, so I was a very easy target. He is originally from California. Seems like everyone down here is from California, New York, and New Jersey. He asked me why Rhode Island was the Ocean State. I guessed it has something to do with the percentage of coastline or something. I was a little ashamed that I didn't know the answer having lived in RI my entire life. So I looked it up when I got home. Turns out it is just a ploy to promote tourism.
