Our Weekend
Posted by Kate on Monday, October 02, 2006Saturday Pat and I took our cars to the carwash. Then we came back to the apartment and used the cool outdoor "car care center" in our parking lot to vacuum out our cars. The vacuum was very strong. Pat accidentally vacuumed up a pen. The cars were desperately in need of cleaning, since we hadn't cleaned them out in ages. We didn't have any windex, so we didn't get to clean the windows, but I will go out and get some today, so the cars can be totally clean.
Sunday we went to the Sertoma Fall Arts Festival. Lots of cool stuff. Mostly jewelry and pottery, but there was some stained glass, paintings, photography, and woodwork too. I got a leather bracelet.
And a tiny little stoneware bowl to put my rings in while I am in the shower.
The place that was hosting the festival offers classes. Cheap classes. Super interesting classes. I definitely need to sign up for some, like the Surface Design Workshop, Hand-laid Paper & Book Arts, Beginning Metal, Hydraulic Press & Etching, Printmaking Introduction, Learn to Knit, Sing, Sing, Sing!, Fiber Art Collage, and Color Theory for the Home. And those are just the ones I was interested in. The have pottery, stained glass, dance classes, and just about anything creative you could want to learn and all the classes are under $100, including supplies! I am so glad we decided to go to the festival!
