Leaves
Posted by Kate on Wednesday, November 01, 2006Almost all the leaves are at their peak down here. So beautiful. Honestly I was a little afraid that the leaves might just turn brown, not knowing much about what the seasons are like far away from New England. Right out our apartment window there is a tree that has been yellow for awhile and now the one behind it is turning red.
Zoe is enjoying the view. She looks so cute curled up next to a halloween cup left on the floor. I tried to take a photo that showed her leaf gazing, but the colors just wouldn't come out the way I see them. Too dark without the flash, to overexposed with the flash. I hate it when you can't capture the mood with a camera.
We bought tickets to fly home for Thanksgiving. It is going to be a very brief visit. We are flying up Thanksgiving morning and then renting a truck on Friday, filling it and driving back down here Saturday. I can't wait to see my family. It will be so bizarre to be up in our neck of the woods and not actually live there. Although I read a quote that rang true, "Home is where your Mom is."
