Housing
It was good to hear back from the seller over the weekend - I think we both would have gone crazy if we had to wait any longer. Tomorrow I'm off from work to celebrate Samhain, and to get our soon-to-be-new-address inspected. Kate and I are meeting the inspector person tomorrow morning.

Blogger
Blogger.com was broken this weekend, so if anyone tried to comment, please try again. Something just wasn't right with their system. You'd think a company owned by Google might have a backup server hanging around some place. Really though, it's still not a bad service for free. I think everything is fixed now though. If I had oodles of free time, and a better web server, I'd setup something like Moveable Type on Rockland Ave.

Moving
Changing your address, and more specifically, canceling services, is a gigantic our-call-volume-is-unexpectedly-high pain. Verizon has been particularly fun to work with, accusing me of canceling too early (despite documentation to prove otherwise + their total lack of service down here) and stealing their modem. Lucky for me, their DSL, billing, and phone service lines are on different planets entirely. Oh, you'll have to speak to someone in our Suffering division. Picking up the mail lately has been nerve racking.

Halloween in a Foreign Land
It's weird to not be going to any Halloween parties this year. In past years, we'd either be at Mailman's or Scott and Bob's place. It just doesn't feel like Halloween unless we're rushing around day-of trying to come up with a costume.
