Goodbye Apartment

If everything goes according to plan, tonight will be our last night in this apartment. Kate and I are both pretty excited about that, as our neighbors have been somewhat rude and antisocial. Also, our sun-room leaks and the complex owners have done nothing about it. For what it was though (temporary housing), it served its purpose.
The cats are unaware that, for the second time this year, they're about to be uprooted.
Utilitarian
I have reached the limit of calls/trips that I would like to be involved in for adding/changing/removing the various utilities in all the places we've lived/will be living. Yes you can run a credit check so I don't have to pay a deposit, no I'm not interested in you withdrawing random amounts of money from my checking account. Yes I know my license is from out of state, no Rhode Island is not part of Connecticut.
Twice this week people have questioned the state-hood status of Rhode Island. I promise you, it's not a county or republic, but a bonified state.
The worst offender in this whole process has been a certain phone/internet conglomerate that rhymes with horizon. I've been on the phone with them 5 times since closing my account with them. Just leave me alone. You can't have any more of my money, and you can't have your modem back. I need to keep it as a reminder not to get service with them again.
Closing
Tomorrow we're closing on our new place, and I'm both very exciting and a little nervous. Excited because, after more than a year of planning and effort, we're finally getting into a house. It's still hard on both of us, being away from our family and friends and snow drifts, but we're now able to get into a house that we can actually afford, and is in good shape.
A little nervous because, well, only 360 payments till it's ours. It's such a huge responsibility, and while I'm a pretty smart guy, I know almost nothing about home maintenance/repair. Lucky for me, Kate is smart as well, so I'm optimistic!
