Big News in Portsmouth, RI
Posted by Kate on Monday, December 20, 2004My Mom and Bill bought another house! It is diagonally across the street from the house they are living in. They live on Common Fence Point, which is a little mini peninsula on the top of Aquidneck Island (Newport, for those of you who don't know RI.) Apparently the thing to do on Common Fence Point is buy up scrappy little beachside cottages and turn them into mansions and sell them for $$$. Mom and Bill figured, hey everyone else is doing it, why not us?
So they bought this tiny little house with water damage from pipes that leaked and froze when no one was living there and mom says the house has no other redeeming values either. So down it goes! And they will build a new and improved bigger house in its place and then most likely sell it. Unless of course they decide they like it much better than the house they are living in now, which has a lot of charm, but is not waterfront like the new house.
Pretty exciting!
