King
Posted by Patrick on Wednesday, December 10, 2003So, after a year of page turning, I have read a book. It's called Dreamcatcher, by Stephen King. Weighing in at 620 pages, it's probably the longest book I've read in a while. You could also say it's the only non-graphic/non-computer related book I've read in a while.
For every one book I read, Kate has read 20+
Anyway, the story revolves around 4 guys, their mentally-retarded-psychic buddy, telepathic superpowers, and (of course) space aliens. A good story. I don't know if I'd call it horror (although there are some nasty deaths for sure), but it was pretty creapy. The space aliens just want to put their weasily parasites inside your body. To much to ask? It keeps them warm and stuff. I like how the story turned out, but I don't know if I'd call it "page turning." It was easy to put down, but equally easy to pick up.
So, now that I'd finished, I started to watch the movie, but I had to stop. It started to pollute my mental image of the book. I don't know if I'll finish watching it or not.
Anyhow, if you're looking for a good Stephen King book, I really really liked Bag of Bones.
