Fast Lane
Posted by Patrick on Friday, November 14, 2003Just got back from Hartford, CT. My work sent me to it's corporate headquarters to learn some Excel skills. I already have some Excel skills, but now I have some more, namely VBA. VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) is the nerdy part of Excel, that does cool things if you're into that whole rows and columns thing.
It's a long way to Hartford, so I got up early to go. I left Rockland-ave at 5:15 this morning, just to make sure I had enough time. Cruised on up 146 to get onto The Mass Pike.
Here's where I made a critical error in judgement. To head towards Connecticut, you really should go West on the pike. I of course realized I was going East as I passed the 122 exit. Those of you who take the Pike know that there's like 11 miles between the 122 exit and the 495 exit.
Yes, I drove close to 30 miles out of my way, for no apparant reason. Thank goodness I got up so early, to drive halfway to Boston before turing around. Luckily, the Patmobile allowed me to make up a little time on the way back down the Pike.
And that is how not to drive to Connecticut.
