Hidden Product Features
Posted by Patrick on Tuesday, February 22, 2005My ipod has a feature that is truly amazing. Not only does it play groovey music, but it has amazing communication abilities not at all mentioned on the packaging. This feature only works while I'm at work. Here's how the process works:
1. Arrive at work
2. Place iPod on desk, plug in headphones, power on the device
3. Choose an album that you've been thinking of listening to
4. Press play
5. Answer the phone now, because it is ringing.
It's amazing! By simply playing a song I like, I get a phone call at work. Works every time! It's like the iPod and phone are psychically connected! After the fourth time in a row that this magic occured today, I quietly tucked the pod away and enjoyed the silence of the non-ringing phone.
It's not like I don't like talking to people on the phone... quite the opposite. Not only does my job depend on it, most of my co-workers are pretty nice and don't make hostile demands while I work. It's just sometimes you want a little time with your tunes, ya know?
Here I am complaining again about things that, in the grand scheme, are meaningless. I am way lucky to have cool toys, and a job that allows me to use them! I just like to point out the latent psychic abilities of my electronic doo-dads.
