A rundown
Posted by Patrick on Wednesday, October 08, 2003Been a couple of days since the last post. Monday and Tuesday were pretty darn cool, as I didn't have to work. Here's a play by play:
-Picked up Mr Majeau from his West Street reisdence about 11. Drove around to try and find some food, to uxbridge, back to douglas. Finally we ended up at The Goodness Store in downdown douglas. It offers a mix of old and older. I don't think they sell ammunition anymore, but I know they use too. Rudy and I had a baked ham dinner, which while expensive, was straight up tasty. If you're a townie, the Goodness store is the place to be.
-Picked up Mr Jacques, went to bellingham and saw School of Rock, which was ok, but really should have been much funnier. Drove Tom back to Tim's place, and then headed back to the Rudemeister's. Watched Rudy play a bit of SOCOM. It seems like a good game, but you have to control four or five other soilders at the same time. I don't think I have the leadership skill to handle that. I'll stick to Metal Gear for my tachtical espionage gaming.
- Later that night... watched a complete baseball game with Rudy, Lisa, and Rudy's dad. That brings the total number of baseball games I've seen (be it live in person, or on tv) to about 6. This one was a quality game though, very competative, up until the last minute. We ate Pizza from "Douglas House of Pizza" which was good and cheap, because hanging out with cops is just the way to get food.
Tuesday:
- Lounged a bit, watched "The Recruit." It was ok, but Al Pacino has made better movies. Headed to Douglas, washed a certain car I have an affection for, and then spent the better part of an hour cruising through the backroads of Douglas. You'll recall my earlier post about driving in the fall, and this was the day to do it. It was also the day to do it because I knew the dispatcher on duty, and I knew he needed a ride home from me. Some days, the stars align in your speeding favor.
- Like I said, picked up Rudy, met up with Mr Matt Miller and Mike "Jewbie." Mike is not Jewish, but Rudy's dad swears he is. We picked up Tom, hung out for a bit, and then went and through a football and basketball around. Here's a bit of Pat Trivia: I can't catch a football. I need a little personal enrichment with that.
- Headed to: Jube's resturant in Northbridge for some sub-par supper. It wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Headed back to East Douglas, where we hung in Rudy's driveway whilst Rudy's dad worked on his truck. We disbanded from there.
That's about all I care to type for now, and I'm sure that was more than you cared to read about. I can sense some photos will appear in the next few days on this site. stay tooned.
