The Ice Cream Quarter Mile
Posted by Patrick on Tuesday, August 09, 2005Rockland Avenue, being the gateway to the sketchy side of town, has a fair amount of traffic. The road is in pretty rough shape, so speeding is bad for your shocks and bad for your teeth. People do it anyway. Everyday some fool in a Civic low rider bottoms out right near our place. Fun to watch, painful to listen to.
We also have an ice cream man who drives the typical ice cream truck. Catchy soundtrack and frosty treats... if you can catch him. This man is on a mission, a mission that requires he move from neighborhood to neighborhood as fast as his ice cream truck will take him. He moves so fast, his ice cream truck music sounds distorted, like he's traveling through time or something.
Here's a graphic representation I painstakingly crafted, for you, showing his truck on our road.
(If you're on dialup, I'm really sorry. This graphic is huge).
Someday we hope to catch this Mario Andretti of the frozen treat world.
