Year
Posted by Patrick on Friday, January 02, 2004Hope everyone had a groovey new year. Kate and I hung out with Rudy, Lisa, Mike at a house party near Manville. Manville is actually the name of a small town in Rhode Island. Well, it's more like a village than a town.
I wonder how the process of naming that town happened. I can just imagine the village founders sitting in a circle, discussing town names:
Villager 1: What should we call our village?
Villager 2: I don't know. How about "Flower Town"?
Villager 1: Nah, I'd like something more masculine that that.
Villager 2: Well, the clear choice then would be "Manville."
Villager 1: So be it. From this day forward, our village will be known as Manville.
And so it was.
P.S. Posted a couple of miscellaneous winter/Christmas photos. Check 'em out.
