Restaurant Depot

Posted by Patrick on Sunday, May 29, 2005

Yesterday Chris and Bob took us on a little field trip to Restaurant Depot. If you can imagine what Home Depot would be like if they sold deep-fryers and 100-pound vats of MSG, then you can imagine what Restaurant Depot is all about. Bob owns Firehouse Pizza, a local eating establishment, and makes weekly trips to the Depot.

Rows and rows of styrophom cups, those big red trays you get at the food-court, and the largest walk-in cooler I have ever walked-into. It kind of reminds me of BJ's (where Scott is gainfully employed), but definatly felt more targeted to the small business owner.

Depot

It's a huge warehouse, mixing physical restaurant supplies and bulk quantities of food. You can buy a deli slicer, just like Kramer did, and then you can purchase 50lbs of bologna and slice away! I think you need to be a business owner to buy stuff there, though... and what ordinary person needs that much round lunch-meat?
