Carolina Hat Trick
Posted by Patrick on Sunday, January 21, 2007 Our new NC friends Carol and Kevin gave us tickets to last night's Carolina Hurricanes game! The Hurricanes are the defending champions from last season. They played some high quality hockey against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but lost in an overtime shoot-out by just one goal. Final score was 5-6.
It was a fun night, neither of us having been to a pro hockey game before, nor to the local RBC Center sports arena. Along with the free tickets, we got a super-sweet parking pass so we got to park right next to the stadium and at the end of the game didn't get stuck in traffic.
Kate and I both agreed that seeing hockey live and in person is way, way more fun then seeing it on the tube. Sharing the experience with other spectators adds to the excitement. Our seats were high-up, but we had a great view of the entire game. There were some painful checks, but no fights. It was a fun night out, we'd do it again for sure.
