Rockland Ave Theatre
Posted by Patrick on Sunday, June 05, 2005Last night we used our new outdoor fireplace thing that Kate wrote about in the previous posting. It worked really well, our first semi-urban campfire here on Rockland Ave. Five logs kept the fire going for the evening. We roasted marshmellows purchased from the local Kwik-E-Mart.
We also watched a movie outside next to our fire, through the miracle of laptops.
We rented Hotel Rwanda. The movie is the true story of the super-tragic 1994 genocide in Rwanda. The story was well told, and describes in detail the personal experiences of this hotel manager trying to save his family and a thousand other refugees in his hotel. So tragic! What a drag that the rest of the world did practically nothing to help these people.
A quality movie, but maybe a little to grim for our campfire. A great night outside though, for sure. Lots of stars, and only a few weirdos walking down the road.
