A Day Without Depth Perception
Posted by Patrick on Thursday, April 19, 2007Tuesday I took a little time off from work to visit the local ophthalmologist, who was kind enough to cut off a little thing that was growing on my eyelid. The procedure went quickly, and the doctor complied with my very specific instruction: Do not tell me what you are doing. Fifteen minutes later I was patched up, the nurse peeled my then-embedded fingers from the arm-rests in my chair, and off I went.I had to leave my pirate patch on for the rest of the day and that night, and it was pretty hard to move around, and the world felt fairly flat. Luckily I didn't fall down the stairs or anything painful like that.
I did startle Kate a few times, as she was sitting beside me on the couch (on my unpatched side) and I kept turning to talk to her and she just was not expecting me to be sporting a patch taped ever-so-gently to my face.
